Intro
February 29, 2008
Since this blog is partly about me, I felt the word “intro” best describes the intended meaning to the “about” page.
I refer to myself as a citizen from Syria, not a Syrian citizen, big difference folks!
I was born in the States, lived in KSA for ten years, spent 12 years in Syria, and then went to Beirut for three years, then spent another five months in Damascus till I was offered a job in Beirut. So I will be blogging from Beirut for the next twelve months or so then i am heading to the US for my PhD, nshalla.
I tend to be leftist. and i am trying now to be vegetarian.
This year is very exciting to me; i am living on my own for the first time in my life, the thing which i considered a dream coming true as a Syrian female.
I have a turtle named Oldie (3ati2a). She constantly tries to commit suicide.
I am working as a web administrator and I am doing my MA thesis on Iraqi Jews’ literature.
This picture is taken in Baddawi Camp in Tripoli, Lebanon. i had to force my friends to boycott the American Coca Cola for whole four days and make them drink the Syrian brand Ugharit i am holding in my hand.
